Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board is calling for nominations for its community volunteer awards, in recognition of voluntary effort benefitting individuals and/or communities within the local board area.
Awards categories include:
• Environment Award
This award is for local groups or individuals’ contribution through voluntary work – influencing the enhancement of the natural environment in the area.
• Youth Award (for individuals 24 years of age and under)
This award is for youth who have contributed their time to make a difference in the community through voluntary work in any sector as mentioned in section B.
• Community Award
For contributions made by local groups or individuals through their work, or through the opportunities they provide to volunteers in their organisation as mentioned in section B.
• Arts and Culture Award
This award is for local groups or individuals’ contribution through voluntary work – influencing the arts and culture sector in the area.
• Heritage Award
This award is for local groups or individuals’ contribution through voluntary work towards preserving or celebrating heritage in the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki area.
The awards aim to recognise volunteer contributions and impact made by individuals, youth and community groups during the period from January 2011 to December 2012.
Hard copies of the form and the criteria are available at the Panmure, Glen Innes and Onehunga libraries as well as the local board office.

The closing date for nominations is 5pm Friday 15 February 2013 and must reach the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board office or be submitted online by this date and time.
