Tuesday night Marlon Williams concert at Neudorf to go ahead

Press Release – Nelson Media Agency

The Marlon Williams concert postponed last Friday due to Nelson’s forest fires will go ahead as planned tomorrow night (Tuesday February 12).

Neudorf Marketing Director Rosie Finn said with the state of emergency set to lift on Wednesday, it was now all go for the concert.

“It’s been a heroic fire-fighting effort and great to hear today they feel they’ve turned a corner,” she said. “We’re incredibly grateful to Marlon and the promoters who are flying all the sound gear back from Dunedin so as not to disappoint their Nelson fans.”

“Another consideration is our food stalls who are all set with supplies,” she said. “People with tickets to Friday’s gig will use those for admission, there will be door sales, but all refunds will handled through the Ticketmaster website or from our cellar door for those who bought direct from there.”

Support act Emily Fairlight could not make the changed date, which means the concert will start promptly at 6.30pm with Kiwi music veteran Don McGlashan, and wrap up around 9.15pm for an earlier weeknight finish.

There will be a collection for the Mayoral Relief fund at the concert, with Neudorf Vineyards making a donation of $1000.

The Neudorf Concert is part of the Tūrangawaewae Tour, with 12 shows between Invercargill and Auckland. Williams is supported by his own band, the Yarra Benders.

The Marlon Williams’ gig is at Neudorf Vineyard in Upper Moutere on Tuesday February 12. Gates open at 5pm.Tickets from the Cellar Door or from Ticketmaster.
