Sky Tower glows for International Women’s Day

Press Release – SKYCITY

Tonight, the top of the Sky Tower will be lit in purple for International Women’s Day and in support of diversity and inclusion in New Zealand.

Yesterday, SKYCITY held its inaugural Winning Women leadership development event, which included a keynote address by Dame Jenny Shipley, with more than 100 staff in attendance.

On 1 March, SKYCITY Entertainment Group became a principal partner of Global Women, which aims to change the face of business to be as diverse as New Zealand itself. This is the latest step in the SKYCITY’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The Sky Tower is New Zealand’s tallest man-made structure and the Southern Hemisphere’s tallest free-standing structure. Based in the heart of Auckland, the Sky Tower is one of New Zealand’s most recognisable landmarks.

SKYCITY lights the Sky Tower for charities or community initiatives that we support financially, to mark national holidays, milestones or other celebrations or events, or as a symbol of respect or solidarity.
