Gull Holds Prices

Auckland, 28 February 2014 – Gull has committed to holding its fuel prices until the end of the weekend (at least). This is in contrast to today’s price increase by several of the oil giants.

David Bodger, Gull New Zeland General Manager, says that while the refined barrel price and exchange rate are both volatile, this does not equate to a price increase.

“Increasing prices on a Friday afternoon also goes against Gull’s philosophy of value to the motorist. This is the time that most Kiwi motorists are filling their vehicles for the weekend, and increasing prices at this time takes advantage of a captive market.”

Bodger concludes, “We’ll look at our margins again on Monday morning, but since it’s a Monday, we’ll be in no rush to do so.”

At the sites where Gull controls the pricing the highest prices are as follows:

Gull Regular (91 Octane): $2.129
Gull Force 10 (98 Octane): $2.279
Gull Low Sulphur Diesel: $1.489

Motorists can save further by using Countdown supermarket dockets at Gull’s manned sites.
