Five cars crash on motorway near Takanini – traffic backs up past East Tamaki

Following a 5 vehicle crash on the Southern Motorway near Takanini, there was major congestion in the southbound lanes late this afternoon.
Southbound traffic was backed up past East Tamaki.
Drivers were asked to be patient and if possible avoid using the motorway until the backlog had cleared.
As a result of the crash one person suffered minor injuries.
