Homicide investigation after man found dead in Half Moon Bay house

Counties Manukau CIB have begun a homicide investigation after finding a body at an address in Fiesta Drive Half Moon Bay at about 11.30pm last night.

The body is believed to be that of a 24 year old man who lived on his own at the address.

The body was discovered following an report received by Police of a motor car crashed into a house on Gossford Drive, Pakuranga. The sole occupant and driver was found with what appeared to be knife wounds and was covered in blood.

The driver is being treated in Middlemore Hospital.

Assistance from the public is sought by Police in relation to the movements of the car in the hours of 9.30pm to 11pm on Friday evening between those two locations.

The car is a 2 door 1996 silver Mitsubishi Mirage Sports.

Anyone who has information that will assist them is asked to call Counties Manukau Police on 09 261 1300 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 and refer to Operation Katy.
