Family violence in Whangarei: woman dies in hospital

The Whangarei woman who was a victim of family violence last Friday night has died in hospital, reports the Northern Advocate. ^[1] The newspaper says the woman was suffering from head injuries.

News from NZ Police – January 7
A 32-year-old man is appearing in the Whangärei District Court today facing an assault charge following a family violence incident in Kamo on Friday.

After the incident at the Kamo address, a 34-year-old woman was taken to Whangärei Hospital with head injuries and is in a critical condition.

The 32-year-old man is also facing a charge of breach of bail.
