The sole occupant of a late model Ford Falcon died when his car left the road after failing to negotiate a bend at about 4.55 p.m. this evening.
The crash occurred on Te Pahu Road south of Whatawhata in the Western Waikato.
The car was travelling in a south bound direction between Whatawhata and Te Pahu at the time.
The driver is yet to be formally identified.
The Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating the crash.
Sergeant Warren Shaw of the Te Awamutu Police would like anyone that saw the late model orange falcon sedan, in the Whatawhata or Te Pahu area in the late afternoon, to phone him on 07 872 0141
