A fire seriously damaged a patrol car at a suburban Hamilton Station tonight.
Emergency services were called to the Hamilton East Police Station about 8.15pm and arrived to find the patrol car well ablaze.
“A window of the car had been smashed and a fire started,” said Acting Senior Sergeant Neville Ross. “Significant damage has been caused to the interior of the car which will undergo forensic examination tomorrow.
“Police are grateful for several calls to the 111 phone service and we have spoken to a number of people who witnessed the fire. At present we would like to hear from anyone with information about a white car seen in the vicinity of the station cap park between 8-8.15pm.”
