Press Release – Jetstar
Jetstar today celebrated carrying 100 millionth passenger by giving a family holiday to a passenger at Auckland Airport. Jetstar Australia & New Zealand CEO David Hall said this was an impressive milestone in the Group’s short history.
“In 2004, we started flying with 14 aircraft along the east coast of Australia and now with the Group having almost 100 aircraft and a network across 16 countries, Jetstar is one of the fastest growing airline brands in the world,” Mr Hall said.
“We began flying domestically in New Zealand in 2009 to offer more choice and lower fares for Kiwi passengers.
“Jetstar Airways has sold over 950,000 domestic seats for less that NZD$50 and we will continue to offer consistently low fares so people can fly to more places more often.
“We are passionate about delivering low fares to bring families, friends and loved ones together here and overseas,” Mr Hall said.
To celebrate today’s milestone, Mr Hall surprised a lucky passenger at Auckland Airport with a family holiday to the value of NZD$5,000.
This week Jetstar is holding celebrations in New Zealand, Australia, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong.
Jetstar is also running Facebook competitions and giving away spot prizes of Jetstar flights worth over NZD$125,000 across the network.
Jetstar is celebrating this milestone with a sale across all New Zealand domestic routes starting today until midnight Monday 5th November 2012. Sale fares will start from $39 (eg Wellington to Queenstown), carry-on baggage only. Sale fares are for selected travel dates in 2013 and conditions apply. For details and to book visit Jetstar.com.
