Woman pedestrian hit by car and killed; man hit by bus and injured

There’ve been two accidents involving pedestrians this afternoon, one of them fatal.
A 75 year old woman pedestrian is dead after she was hit by car in Glenfield Rd., Totara Vale, on the North Shore. This accident occurred at about 1.20pm.
The woman has not yet been identified. She is described as a Caucasian
- 75 – 85 years old
- Grey/white hair
- A piece of light blue ribbon tied around her neck
- Gold rimmed glasses
- Wearing blue jacket with white zip, dark blue woollen knitted jersey, black track pants and black shoes with no laces.
In an earlier accident today, a man has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after he was hit by a bus in Symonds Street, Grafton at about 12.20pm.
Cordons were in place outside the Langham Hotel.
Both accidents are being investigated by the Police Serious Crash Unit.
