Auckland woman wins NZ’s Next Top Ranga crown
Press Release – Ranga
She’s fiery, she’s outgoing, she’s got long ginger curls that tumble down her back – and as of this week, Farris Bredenkamp is officially New Zealand’s Next Top Ranga.
The Auckland woman beat 92 others in a national Facebook campaign and received over 7,500 votes to win the copper-encrusted crown.
Bevan Wait, co-director of Ranga -the Ginger beer company behind the search for the country’s most fabulous ginger – was “completely stoked” with the amount of attention the campaign received.
“We didn’t do any advertising for the competition at all – we just put it up on Facebook and it went viral,” he says.
“Farris is a real laugh – she’s classic. She’s perfect to be the face of Ranga.”
“The competition was all about being ginger and proud of it.”
Bredenkamp wins a new iPad and will contribute to an online Ranga blog.
More than 25,000 people from around the world cast their vote for their favourite red-headed candidate.
Launched in May, Ranga Ginger Beer – with it’s “refreshingly feisty” tagline – uses marketing initiatives to “help ginger people feel good”.
Ranga Ginger Beer can be found at Countdown and is best “served cold over ice with a dash of lime and a couple of you ginger-haired friends”.
