Window cleaner critically injured after falling 30 metres from roof of Newmarket building

An 18-year-old window cleaner was in a critical condition tonight after falling 30 metres from the roof of a building in Newmarket.

News from NZ Police
At about 2.29pm this afternoon, an industrial accident occurred in Newmarket, Auckland. A window cleaner contracted to clean windows at the Lion Nathen Building, Carlton Gore Road, Newmarket fell approximately 30 meters from the roof of the building.

The window cleaner, an 18 year old female, has been admitted to Auckland Hospital with severe injuries and is in a critical condition.

Police and Ambulance attended the incident. Occupational Safety and Health have been notified and are also attending. The investigation will be completed by OSH assisted by Police.
