Woman pedestrian in critical condition after hit-and-run accident in Mt Roskill
News from NZ Police
A 21-year-old woman was critically injured at 5.45 last night when she was hit by a car while walking home along Richardson Road in Mt Roskill.
A dark coloured four door sedan was seen to be driving at speed along Richardson Road. It mounted the footpath and collided with a rubbish bin before hitting the woman.
The impact threw her some metres away causing her serious head injuries.
The offending vehicle did not stop and sped off. It’s believed that it turned into Rosamund Avenue before it was lost sight of.
The victim is now in hospital and her condition is critical.
Police are appealing to any persons or motorists in the area at the time who may have seen a dark coloured sedan vehicle driving at speed or erratically to come forward.
Calls to be directed to Detective Victoria Williams on 09 820 5760 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
It may well be that this vehicle has sustained damage to its frontal or bonnet area.
