20-month-old girl found after being reported missing in Mangere

Less than 30 minutes after they issued a news release saying that a 20-month-old girl was missing in Mangere, police have said the girl has been found, safe and well. But they haven’t given any explanation.

Police are appealing for sightings of a 20 month old Tongan girl who is missing in Mangere. The girl was last seen standing at the intersection of Bingara Place and Robertson Road between 10:40am – 11:15 this morning.
She is wearing a long sleeve pink top, brown suede pants, white socks with no shoes. The girl has black hair pulled into a small ponytail.
The girl was approached by a Polynesian woman driving a vehicle described as a maroon coloured people mover. The girl was seen being lifted into the vehicle which drove off towards Favona Road.
Police are appealing for any sightings of the girl, or the vehicle stopped at the intersection. Please ring the Manukau Police Station on Ph: 2611300 immediately.
